A Little Collaboration Pays Big Rewards
|
It's amazing what a school can accomplish with a little help and a lot of imagination. At Mountain View Elementary School in Parker, Colo., students, teachers, and volunteers transformed the school into a full-blown carnival for their Book Fair. "The event was bigger than any of us ever expected," said Terri Bailey, Librarian and Book Fair organizer.
Here's how they did it.

Browsing Books With Someone Grand
|
Grandparents play a special role in your students' lives, but because kids are so busy these days, it can be difficult for them to find time to spend with their grands. A Grand Event brings students and loved ones together at your Fair, where they can spend time browsing and talking about books. Try hosting a Spaghetti and Meteors luncheon and hold a raffle for a "grand" prize. You'll also earn Scholastic Dollars when you host a Grand Event.
